2018-2019: Graduate Student Representative, NUS
Role: As a student representative, I worked as a liaison between the graduate student community and the university including department and faculty levels. We organised events, represented student needs and ensured a smooth academic year for the students and faculty alike. One of our successful projects were to work with the department to provide free First Aid Course for fieldwork students.
2019: Helped as a volunteer with the organisation of the 5th International Mangrove Conference (MMM5)
2016-2017: Events and Conference Coordinator, USF
Role: As a part of the Geospatial Analysis Laboratory, I helped in organising and planning of two workshops and multiple lab events.
2013-2016 Honors Ambassador, UC
Role: This was one of the most fun part of my undergraduate studies. As an Honors Ambassador I took part into admission events to talk to parents about the University and promoted the goodwill of the program. I also presented my personal experience at various events and helped out with service learning projects.
(UC Honors program was a community which was made up of top 5% top-scoring applicants of an incoming given batch. As honors students we had to meet a certain criterion and accomplish a few goals, both academic and co-curricular, to maintain our status)
2014-2015 Director of International Student Affairs, Student Government, UC
Role: As the elected director, my role was to represent the international community in student government decision making along with organizing two events every year. My main project at this position was to being “virtual open house” concept to admissions for international students. In collaboration with a number of university offices, I lead a team to plan up and create facilities to help international students learn more about the program and the university from their home. As for the events, I organised an open forum for international students to file complaints and concerns and a fun international food festival.

2014-2015 First Year Leadership Program Mentor, Student Government, UC
Role: Along with my position as the director of international students (above) I mentored first year students to become better campus representatives and leaders by helping them lead a project of their own interest. I had two student mentees under me for one year, one of whom ended up becoming the director of international students the following year.
2014-2015 Co-Founder and Treasurer of Photography Club, UC
Role: A bunch of my friends interested in photography started a club where we would organise photowalks every weekend and helped in coordinating rental photography equipments from the library or club’s use. As the treasurer I was responsible to provide a budget and negotiate fund from Student Life Office.
2013-2015 Advocacy Chair of Colleges Against Cancer and Relay for Life
Role: As the advocacy chair of this organisation, my role was to work on an independent project. The project I worked on was in collaboration with Student Senate on making our campus smoke-free (ban smoking). It took us four years (2 years as a part of this organisation and 2 years as an independent member) to finally make our campus smoke-free. My role was to engage graduate student and international student interest to vote for the cause and help with strategic communication planning.
2012-2015 Volunteer at Bearcat Buddies, Sierra Club and Krohn Conservatory
Role: I volunteered with these three organisations throughout my undergraduate years to be a part of and give back to the community in a meaningful way.
2012-2016 Co-founder of Nasha Bollywood Dance Club
Being a passionate dancer, a group of four girls formed a dance club to share the culture and art of India through Bollywood. We used to perform at least twice a month at any and every event on campus.

Role: My role was to represent the biology department at my college open house. We usually had one open house every month where I also gave tour of the department and helped answer questions and lead breakout sessions during the events.

- Our lab hosted NASA Geospatial Information Technology Exchange where our partners from East Africa, Mekong, West Africa and Panama came to USF to attend a week long technology exchange. My role was to coordinate the week long activities, help with hospitality and scheduling along with ordering food, preparing material for the conference and being a good host.
- I helped with the planning and preparation of SERVIR-Mekong workshop in Bangkok in January 2017 partnering with Asian Disaster Preparedness Center Bangkok, Google Mountain View, NASA and USAID.
- I took lead of organising GIS Day Celebration in 2016 and 2017. Both the years we did different kinds of event in the first year we did a campus wide event involving students of all backgrounds where we made a web trivia to be played using the campus maps and hosted local companies from around the bay area like Google, Trimble and Carto.
- In 2016, a lot of our international partners attended American Geophysical Union’s Conference in San Francisco, so, our lab hosted a couple cocktail parties which I helped in planning.

- In Bearcat Buddies, I would go to a low income secondary school to provide tutoring 2 hours every week. I was working with a single student throughout the semester and I usually taught math and lead art projects.
- Sierra Club is a nature protection, steward organisation. With them I helped with park cleanups, awareness programs and fundraising.
- Krohn Conservatory was a butterfly conservatory. With them I helped with organising art classes, tabled information sessions and fundraising events once a month.
